The situation of animals in Morocco is often deplorable, with many challenges to face. Stray animals, such as dogs and cats, endure harsh living conditions, exposed to malnutrition, diseases, and violence. The lack of birth control programs leads to overpopulation. Moreover, animal abuse is a persistent reality, often due to a lack of awareness and effective laws to protect these vulnerable creatures. Limited resources available to government bodies and animal protection organizations make it even harder to adequately address these issues.

These animals are captured, suffocated, crammed into cages, and then burned in ovens. Hearing their cries and seeing them starve causes me ever more pain, watching them live like this, only to die under such conditions. Sometimes, they are even shot by hunters in public, who feel proud of killing them, seeing it as a glory or achievement. How can anyone sleep peacefully after committing such acts of cruelty, such as capturing, killing, and cremating stray dogs? How can we face God without feeling regret for such actions?

At the same time, the situation of the underprivileged in Morocco remains a major challenge despite the country’s economic progress. A significant portion of the population still lives below the poverty line. Rural areas are particularly affected, with limited access to basic services such as education, healthcare, and clean drinking water. Although the Moroccan government has launched several programs to fight poverty, like the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), these efforts focus on improving infrastructure, education, health services, and creating economic opportunities for disadvantaged communities.

My project aims to change the reality for animals in Morocco by implementing concrete and sustainable actions. While intervening to rescue animals in distress, providing necessary care, and placing them in shelters, we also carry out vaccination, castration, and sterilization campaigns to control overpopulation, alongside awareness campaigns to change mindsets and promote respect and protection for animals.

It is high time to bring about significant change and project a positive image of our country.

Rescue Animal Morocco is not limited to defending animal rights. The association is also actively engaged in helping the most vulnerable people. Since its recent creation, Rescue Animal Morocco has worked to provide valuable assistance to those in need. We have carried out solidarity actions such as helping victims of the Al Haouz earthquake by distributing food to affected families and providing essential items like mattresses and tents. We also regularly support disadvantaged children by supplying school materials, toys, and gifts during festive seasons, especially for children undergoing cancer treatment.

Furthermore, part of our work supports families financially, covering hospital bills for babies and assisting elderly people in nursing homes. Since 2014, we have been paying rent for a needy family whose mother uses a respiratory device.

Rescue Animal Morocco remains deeply committed to these two causes—protecting animals and helping the underprivileged. Thanks to your support, my efforts to save more animals and have a positive impact on Moroccan society continue to grow.

Respectfully,
